I had been in contact with the excavators about their schedule. Of course it’s weather dependent but I had been on their ‘schedule’ since late March. They assured me that they would give me plenty of notice when they were coming.
I had the site clear of concrete and other materials, and the rough staking of the building ready for them to dig. Sure enough. They gave me plenty of notice. The phone rang around 7:00AM on the 8th telling me they’d be there in an hour. I guess my definition of notice wasn’t quite the same as theirs. No matter. I was glad they were finally coming.
He arrived and unloaded the skid-steer. We chatted to confirm a few details and he went right at it. The topsoil and sod was dumped over the hill into the timber. The rest was piled up near the shed. I would use that for backfilling and leveling around the wall
