Once the dirt was removed, I had another repair project. I knew this one was going to be needed.
The downspouts on the west side of the house dropped into 4″ tile and drained west some 40′ down the hill and out to the timber. Once the grading started, he found the tiles immediately. I salvaged a couple of sections of the green 4″ pipe and bought some additional 10′ lengths and elbow fittings.
Following the grade, I coupled the furthest pipe from the timber to the closest downspout, then turned the pipe downhill for about about 40′ until it went a few feet into the trees. This would keep the runoff away from the new building and also minimize erosion.
